New Day, New Perspective!

Getting tired already, another week begins. This week also starts the holiday season for many people in this country as well. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out in the gallery. My boss, the owner of the gallery is of the firm opinion that the Christmas shopping spree seen so dramatically in the retail business, is not so exciting in the gallery business. I am hoping he is wrong this time! Anyway, been busy catching up with my shops this weekend, deleting things I have sold in the gallery and updating some things in others as well. I have some new items I posted in my Zazzle store, excited to see if that helps sales. I have done a few more paintings this weekend and made some prints to take to the gallery with me this week. Excited about that too!

I fell in love with a painting I did of Lily of the Valley, my favorite flower. It is so cute, I hate to sell it, but money is still a need so, sell it must. My favorites always seem to be everyone else's favorites as well. Guess I will have to let it go!

Also new for me lately, been very busy working on myself and letting things go. Everything fro the past, to the little things that really affect me day to day. I am learning, that all I need to be worrying about is keeping myself on track spiritually, that is the number one priority. With that will come my art and also, focusing more on my physical health and wellness. It is time, too many years letting life take over me, now it is time to take over my life! I did my tarot cards today, and other than minor hiccups it looks like a very good week for me. Lots of good cards pointing to wealth from hard work, unexpected money ( maybe the lottery is coming!), and spiritual strength. All good, means I am on track, one warning for the week, not to be casual spending money. So, not much of a Thanksgiving planned, no cash and only one day off. I mean it is retail in a sense at a gallery. I do not want to spend that one day cooking and being for two people. I would rather work on art and enjoy a quiet day with my guy. I am sure he will like it too, working seven days a week can take its toll. I am hoping he gets at least two days off, even though it will be tight financially. I know he needs some rest and down time, he has earned it!

Well, happy that things are slowing moving in the direction, I had hoped. Excited about where things may go, my artwork on Baobao bags is not posted yet, so I guess it will appear next week. I will alert you, in the hopes that you find it in your heart to vote for me. I would be honored and thrilled to have my art on the public market. We shall see how it goes. I do know, that no matter what, if they offer it again, I will apply and hope that one day I can have that honor. I do hope your week has started out happily and that it gets even better towards the end! Sending out my love to you all, as always, diana

Glorious Sunflowers!

Well, I can officially say that I have finally finished my Sunflower painting. I think I am going to name it Glorious Sunflowers. It turned out beautifully, I hope you like it. The pictures on this blog were taken not too long ago, and I am so very happy with the outcome. The sad part will be letting it go, got to sell it, need the money. It has been a long journey with this canvas. I started it about 4 years ago, and ran out of the colors, mostly the yellow. This canvas has moved with me over and over again, waited for me while I worked two jobs at a time, just to be able to afford the paints, and finally for me to dig it out of the closet, and complete the process.

The original plan, at the place I lived at when I started it, was for it to go on the wall in my dining room. I had some Shaker ladder back chairs. I had planned on re-seating the chairs, with red, yellow and green fabric. The Flowers were to look over my table and guests, that was the dream. My room mate at the time, stole my chairs and many other things from me. For the above mentioned reason, I no longer live at that address. Where I am now, there is no dining room, and definitely no chairs and table to make it happen. So many people who have seen me working on this painting over the last few weeks, have loved this canvas. Everyone says they want to buy it, or knows some one who will. One of my friends, is going to give me an opportunity to put this canvas in a gallery, through a friend of hers. So, keep your fingers crossed, I would love to sell it and have money to buy more supplies to make more, and then sell more. The ultimate catch twenty-two for me!

Now, on the job front, I received a call today. I have a job interview tomorrow, it is a good job for me. At least that is what I think, the universe may have other plans. At two-thirty tomorrow, I will be going through the interview process. I can only hope all goes well. Considering the luck I have been having, I am not going to let myself get too excited. But, it is good and hopeful news for sure. Tonight is also, lottery night, you never know, maybe tonight will be my night! Keep your fingers crossed!

Now, I am going to get to work on some drawings, I think and tomorrow I need to get the jewelry out of the car and begin that process of pricing and designing stands or racks for displaying the jewelry. With any luck at all, these can be in the shop, by the beginning of next week. So much work, so little time. The drawings, I am hoping to do are for some holiday (Halloween for now) cards to be put on my Zazzle account. In my dream world, hopefully I can knock a couple of them out tonight and in the morning. It all just depends on how creative my brain is going to be. After spending weeks on the painting, it may take a while to get back into the swing of things. Sending you my love, where ever you may be, diana

Let's Play Catch The Clock!

Well this should have been done hours ago. It seems that my computer or Firefox has been having difficulty this morning. And a simple task like writing a sentence is taking minutes to load! So, I rebooted and am hoping that solves the problem. Happy Monday to you and hope your week started out as great as you wished it would be, really hope it was better. I know most people do not look forward to Mondays. Well for me today is beat the clock Monday and only the beginning of beat the clock week. I have been so busy trying to do so many things since I got my car out of the shop, that now I am severely behind on catching up on my art, my shops, my blogs and my job search. So, this week I intend on doing my all to make up for lost time. Funny how my computer had an entirely different agenda than me! I was doing some searching this morning and found a site called eHow, pretty cool. It seems you can put a profile on there and watch videos and read how to's on all kinds of things.

Now, if you are more computer savvy than I bear with me. I was really excited about it. The diversity of things you can get information about is staggering. It will take me a minute to absorb it all. So, technically now I have even more things to do than first anticipated. I wonder how long I can go without sleep? I need those hours to catch up. For those of you unfamiliar with this site, check it out, really amazing how many things you can learn about. They have everything from how to keep getting bitten by mosquitoes to digital filming techniques and a whole gamut of subjects in between and all around. So, if you have an interest or several interests that you are curious about, check them out. You can build a profile and make friends and I am hoping they will also, help me figure out more about it. For me other than a great way to fill my head with trivia that interests me, I think it will be a great way to network as well. The first person to add me has over 2000 friends on her page. I am thinking it is a pretty big site.

Now that I have that off my chest it is off to the drawing board for me. Yesterday was all about doing housework and cooking and baking. Today is all about doing artwork, blogging and tweeting and all the stuff required for me to maintain and grow my online business. I added some new prints to my shops yesterday and will be adding some more today, for anyone interested in checking it out. I also, added something new to my Zazzle store. So, eBay, ETSY, Artfire, Zibbet and Zazzle have new items for you to see. Hoping you enjoy them and your day, all my love to you, diana

PS: I am adding my eHow link, if you would like to check it out too!

Sleepless In The Mountains

Well, I made it awake all night. Took a short nap, about an hour today, so I am thinking tonight is going to be an early night. I did get a lot done however, and that is always good! I finally finished the drawing with the square on it, I made myself a couple of friendship bracelets and made about seven stylish friendship bracelets to sell. I need to make some more like the one I am wearing just to keep on me to sell, and maybe to add to my online stores. I also, was hoping to get at least one drawing started, with some new T-Shirt specific prints to put into my Zazzle account (store).

Hoping you have started the week out right, ready to go and ready to be done! I started with a bang for sure, all niter, what was I thinking? Actually, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I figured on being a train wreck today. I am still going strong, but I know that can only go on so long. Once that second wind, blows out, I will be lucky to make it to my bed. I wanted to get a couple more bracelets done and then I am thinking of doing at least one sun print for t-shirts, something brilliant, but with no background, so it has a nice effect on the t-shirts. Maybe a sea turtle, lizard, frog, fish, not sure but I would like to get humpin' and get several designs done. I think they will look great. I will be sure to post them so you can see for yourself. For today, I will post the drawing I was working on, and probably tomorrow, I will upload pictures of the bracelets, I made as well. We will have to see, there are quite a few pictures already. If you are completely impatient however, you can go to my shops, because they are listed there already. All except my ETSY account, it keeps malfunctioning, so only one is listed there for now. I will include my links at the bottom of this page so you can check them out!

So, I have started the week busy and plan on keeping up my momentum as long as possible. It has been so difficult trying to keep up with all the sites, that I haven't had as much time to work on my art. The last few days I have been focusing on the art, and so the stores have been neglected. Every week I am getting better at juggling my time and dividing my attentions to all that needs to be done. Now, all I really have to squeeze in is some kind of a workout and reading time. One thing at a time, first get this part on track and then I can incorporate more into this schedule of mine! Sending my love, got to go, still lots to do , before my body yells at me. Love, diana

A New Coviction, A New Life!

Just saw the movie Invictus, what a great movie! I love the poem and am inspired by it. Thought I would share it for those of you who haven't read it, and those that have a reminder of how powerful it is! Hoping your weekend is going great! I have been busy working on a new shop I will share with you. It is on Zazzle and I can put my prints on t-shirts, coffee mugs, posters and all kinds of cool things! I am excited, it is on this blog, if you get a chance look it up and let me know what you think. Love hearing from you.

Anyway, got to get back to work. Nothing exciting on the lottery yet. Haven't got on the charity book yet, still in process. As soon as I find out, you will be the first to know. Love to you as always, diana

Invictus

by William Ernest Henley; 1849-1903

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate;

I am the captain of my soul.
